GTCL officials observe the National Mourning Day, 15 August 2020

On Saturday, August 15, 2020, the 45th Martyrdom Anniversary and National Mourning Day of the great architect of independence, the best Bengali of the millennium, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed by Gas Transmission Company Limited (GTCL) with due dignity and solemn atmosphere. On this occasion, the national flag was hoisted at the head office and regional offices of the company as soon as the sun rose. At 7:00 am, recitation from the Holy Quran were completed at the head office. The delegation of Energy and Mineral Resources Division (EMRD) led by Mr. Md. Anisur Rahman, Senior Secretary, Department of Energy and Mineral Resources and Honorable Chairman, GTCL Board, the delegation of Petrobangla led by Mr. ABM Fattah, Chairman of Petrobangla, BPC delegation led by BPC Chairman Mr. Md. Shamsur Rahman and the representatives of the Dhaka-based companies (TGTDCL, BAPEX and RPGCL) under Petrobangla Led by the Managing Directors of their respective organizations participated in a limited range by obeying health safety and paid deep homage to the Father of the Nation at “Bangabandhu Corner” of GTCL head office by laying a wreath at his portrait at 8:00 am. At 9:00 am, open discussion was held in a virtual manner and a special prayer mahfil was held for the forgiveness of all the martyrs of August 15, including Bangabandhu, and for the progress and prosperity of the country. The prayers and special munajat are offered in all the existing mosques of the company located in Dhaka and outside Dhaka after the Dhuhr prayer.
